Break the Color Barrier
This show is devoted to all you fans of color. Each of the artists represented in this show are known to push the color envelop in their art. Andy Warhol layered color like he was icing a cake, often covering over mundane subjects with vivid color in order to bring them to life. Mary Heilmann uses her colors to make a statement. What that statement is, is up to the viewer. Her intensions remain secret. Murakami’s colors often suppress the shining underbelly, while Jack O’Hearn paints a new colorful path called ‘Atropos’. Reina’s New Mexican desert is colored with the light seen only in the ‘Enchanted’ state. Here Chicago-based artist Mark Booth here uses colorful words while David Squibb uses his color to be ‘Heard’.
